Team Lead – Electronics Workshop

Team Size: 5 specialists

About the Role

You combine technical expertise with leadership, actively participating in repairs while overseeing daily operations of the team. You ensure the workshop runs efficiently, maintain quality, and deliver repairs on time. You also drive continuous improvement, connect with global Marine & Ports service centres, and contribute to growth through international partnership and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

Technical Work

  • Repair digital and analog circuit boards used in marine automation, frequency, process and generator control units.
  • Perform component‑level repairs on incoming boards from global customers.
  • Diagnose incoming products for quotation purposes (quotes prepared by the repair coordinator).
  • After approval, execute repair, complete final testing, record results in an English report, and update the shared database.
  • Provide technical support to customers and field engineers.

Leadership & Organizational Tasks

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the electronics team.
  • Distribute work, manage workshop planning, and monitor progress and quality.
  • Ensure staff have the necessary training and certifications.
  • Safeguard a safe working environment, enforce safety regulations (VCA, NEN 3140), and attend quarterly safety meetings.
  • Maintain inventory and keep the workshop organized.
  • Support quotation, fault investigation and offer preparation.
  • Collaborate with service engineers and other Marine Service Centres, especially during peak load or international projects.
  • Build sustainable customer relationships and high customer satisfaction.

Profile

  • HBO or MBO with a background in Electronics, Mechatronics or Industrial Automation.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with digital and analog technology.
  • Leadership experience (several years) in a technical setting – able to motivate people, prioritize and maintain overview.
  • Precise, analytical, practical, enjoys hands‑on work and thrives on technical challenges.
  • Customer‑focused, communicative, able to build relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Commercial insight and a focus on service quality.
  • Experience with energy technology is a plus.
  • Possession of VCA‑VOL and NEN 3140 (or willingness to obtain).
  • Good command of Dutch and English, spoken and written.
