Jobid=626776936919664508 (0.0985)

This role facilitates disciplined execution for a high stakes advisory engagement with a major European logistics firm. As a Scrum Master Intern, you will help our project teams maintain focus and clarity as we interrogate the commercial assumptions behind their current operations.

About Blue Oak Consulting
Blue Oak Consulting provides independent advisory on pricing, portfolio economics, capital allocation, and acquisition assumptions. We are not a traditional consulting firm focused on broad transformation programs or high level strategy decks. Instead, we interrogate specific commercial decisions where the financial stakes are high and the existing narrative is not sufficient. Our team looks past corporate language and P&L complexity to identify where value is leaking or capital is trapped. We work across sectors like software, manufacturing, and healthcare to test whether the assumptions behind a growth plan actually hold under pressure. We are a small, principal led firm where the people who do the work are the ones accountable for the results. We do not take transaction contingent fees, which allows us to be completely honest about whether the economics of a decision make sense. Our goal is to provide clarity through financial discipline and a healthy amount of skepticism. We stay through the execution phase because decisions that look sound in theory often fail when they meet real world friction.

The Role
In this role, you will join a team currently supporting a major European logistics firm in refining its operational economics and capital allocation strategies. This is a fully remote position where you will act as a facilitator, ensuring our internal analysts and client stakeholders remain aligned through structured cycles of work. While we are an advisory firm, we use Agile principles to manage our complex workstreams and ensure that no project stalls due to administrative friction. We value honesty and financial discipline over corporate routines, so your focus will be on clearing the path so that our experts can focus on the data. You will be expected to learn the project management tools we use and contribute to the overall organization of the engagement.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Organize and facilitate daily stand ups, sprint planning sessions, and reviews for the logistics project team.
  • Help the team maintain a clear and prioritized backlog by coordinating closely with senior project leads.
  • Identify and remove administrative or communication blocks that prevent analysts from completing their financial modeling.
  • Track team progress using standard metrics and provide transparent updates to firm leadership on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure that digital task boards accurately reflect the current state of the work.
  • Help refine internal workflows to reduce overhead and improve the focus of our technical consultants.
  • Support the coordination between different workstreams within the logistics engagement to ensure deadlines are met without unnecessary stress.
  • Participate in post project reviews to analyze where execution faced friction and how to improve the process for the next cycle.

What You Bring

  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in business, economics, project management, or a related field.
  • Genuine curiosity about how large corporations operate and a desire to learn how Agile methodologies are applied in professional services.
  • Strong organizational skills and a natural ability to keep small groups of people focused and on track during meetings.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain timelines and requirements without using unnecessary jargon.
  • Comfort working in a 100 percent remote environment and a self disciplined approach to daily tasks.
  • Basic familiarity with project management software or a strong willingness to learn new digital tools quickly.
  • A skeptical and logical mindset: you should be someone who asks questions when a process or a data point does not seem right.
  • An interest in the logistics and transportation sector, particularly the financial and operational challenges they face.

What We Offer

  • A paid internship with a compensation package that is competitive for the entry level market of this role.
  • The ability to work from any location as part of our fully remote team.
  • Direct access to senior partners and principals who are directly accountable for the project results.
  • Practical experience applying Scrum and Agile principles to complex, high stakes financial advisory work.
  • An environment that values skepticism and logical thinking over corporate scripts and posturing.
  • Significant responsibility for an intern, with the opportunity to see how your coordination directly affects project outcomes.

Working at Blue Oak Consulting means looking at the facts rather than the script. We are a small firm where every team member is expected to think critically and contribute to the clarity we provide our clients. This internship is an opportunity to see how financial theory meets operational reality and to help a large logistics organization navigate its own complexity through disciplined project management and clear communication. You will be an active participant in our team meetings and will be expected to provide honest feedback on how we can work more effectively.
