As a Sales Executive, you will play a crucial role in expanding our client portfolio and promoting our comprehensive logistics solutions, with a focus on air and ocean freight services.
Essential Job Functions:
Business Development & Prospecting
Identify and approach potential customers (importers/exporters, manufacturers, traders)
Generate new leads through cold calls, emails, networking, and client visits
Support in expanding existing accounts
Research target markets and customer shipping needs.
Client Relationship Management
Conduct outside sales visits to prospects
Build and maintain strong customer relationships
Understand customer logistics requirements (routes, volumes, Incoterms, timelines)
Act as a point of contact for day-to-day customer inquiries
Quoting & Sales Support
Follow up on ocean and airfreight quotations
Coordinate rates with pricing, operations, and carriers
Coordination with Operations
Liaise with operations and customer service
Ensure smooth handover of new accounts to operations
Support issue resolution related to shipments, delays, or service problems
Gather feedback from customers on service performance
Market & Trade Lane Knowledge
Ocean and airfreight products, services, and trade lanes
Stay informed about market trends, rate fluctuations, and carrier changes
Develop understanding of customs, documentation, and compliance basics
Reporting & CRM Management
Maintain accurate records in Vision
Update sales activity reports and pipeline status
Track KPIs such as calls, visits, quotes, and new business
Assist with sales forecasts and management reports
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, focusing on air and ocean freight services.
Demonstrated success in sales and business development within the logistics sector.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Goal-oriented, self-driven, and capable of working under pressure to meet and exceed targets.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
Proficiency in English (additional languages are an advantage).
A passion for the logistics industry and the ambition to contribute to the growth of the company.
Willingness to travel occasionally to meet clients and attend industry events.
