We are looking for a Project Management Intern to assist our team in coordinating a major commercial advisory engagement for a leading Rotterdam-based logistics firm. This role is built for an individual who is organized and curious about the mechanics of large scale business deals. You will support the day to day management of workstreams that help our client navigate complex partnership decisions and capital deployment. Because Gulf Associates operates as a fully remote firm, you will coordinate with our partners through digital platforms while maintaining a disciplined approach to your own schedule and tasks.
What you will do
- Maintain and update project schedules to ensure all internal and client deadlines are met for the logistics project.
- Conduct targeted research on counterparties, including their market behavior and recent commercial activity.
- Draft concise summaries of internal briefings and partner meetings to keep the team aligned on next steps.
- Organize and categorize evidence used to support commercial positions and negotiation strategies.
- Track the progress of regulatory conversations and summarize how they might impact the client's timeline.
- Assist in the preparation of documents for senior level reviews and client presentations.
- Identify potential bottlenecks in the project flow and flag them to the partners early.
- Verify the accuracy of data points in commercial reports before they are sent to the client.
What you bring
- A high level of attention to detail and a preference for orderly documentation.
- Strong writing skills: you can explain a complex situation in a few clear, direct sentences.
- Commercial curiosity: you want to understand how state capital and private interests interact in the market.
- The ability to work independently in a remote setting while staying communicative with the rest of the team.
- Research discipline: you know how to find facts and verify them without relying on generic summaries.
- Proficiency with standard office software, specifically for organizing data and creating timelines.
- A logical mindset that focuses on solving practical problems rather than following abstract theories.
- Reliability: you do what you say you will do and you respect the time of your colleagues.
What we offer
- Attractive and competitive pay for an internship role in the commercial advisory sector.
- Direct access to senior partners who stay involved in every stage of a project.
- A fully remote working arrangement that provides flexibility and removes the need for commuting.
- Practical learning opportunities that focus on how deals are actually settled in the room.
- Exposure to high stakes commercial environments and complex logistics strategy.
Working at Gulf Associates
Gulf Associates is not a typical consulting firm. We prioritize ground reality over theoretical models and long reports. Our work involves sitting in on negotiations and regulator conversations where the real outcomes are decided. We hold a small book of active engagements to ensure that our partners can give each client their full attention. In this environment, we value outcomes over output: we care about the result of the advice we give, whether that is a signed agreement or a successful operational launch. Our culture is professional, direct, and focused on helping clients make decisions they can actually act on.
The firm operates on a logic where state capital often intersects with private investment, requiring a specific type of commercial judgment. As an intern, you will observe this logic in practice. We expect you to be honest about what you know and what you do not know. We value clarity and evidence over fluff. This role provides a view into how a senior led firm manages complex assignments for sovereign entities and family groups without the layers of a traditional corporate office. You will be expected to manage your time effectively and contribute to the firm's reputation for providing grounded, actionable advice.
