Overview
Product Support Engineer at Nearfield Instruments. You use your knowledge of semiconductor equipment to support our operators around the world.
Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands (relocation or travel as required).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Field Service and Application Engineers on-site to provide technical support for customer requests, maintenance, and equipment issues.
- Manage product support request tickets in Jira, drive to closure with 3rd Line Support, and coordinate required actions to resolve issues.
- Collect and analyze equipment and service performance data; proactively initiate improvements.
- Support engineering projects and changes by providing service requirements and ensuring developments can be implemented on the Installed Base.
- Visit manufacturing sites once or twice a year to support on-site tasks that require more time, such as rebuilding machines.
What you’ll be doing
Respond quickly to requests and analyze issues with the client to tackle malfunctions. Provide information and documentation, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, spare parts coordination, and issue/escalation management to help manufacturers meet reliability, availability, productivity, and imaging specs.

Who you are
- A technical vocational or bachelor’s degree.
- Broad and in-depth technical knowledge of semiconductor equipment.
- A proactive attitude, structured problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage escalations and take ownership.
- Customer focus with the ability to build and maintain good relationships with Field-Service teams and 3rd Line Support in Rotterdam.
- Flexibility to support different time zones and occasional on-site travel (once or twice per year).
