Principal Accounting Consultant – Omega Project Solutions – Rotterdam

Execute and oversee day-to-day accounting activities

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities

Prepare and analyse financial reporting, including variance analysis and tax calculations

Support preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reporting

Take ownership of the accounting for one or more legal entities

Ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality of financials

Perform balance sheet reconciliations (including sub-ledgers, intercompany, and suspense accounts)

Conduct accounting risk assessments and ensure proper documentation

Analyse and resolve non-standard or complex accounting transactions

Prepare clear and well-documented accounting memoranda

Apply and document accounting treatment under IFRS and Norwegian GAAP

Collaborate with Accenture on standard accounting activities

Review, challenge, and quality assure outsourced work

Ensure alignment between onshore and offshore activities

Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders

Explain financial results and resolve open accounting issues

Support internal and external audits

Identify and drive process improvements

Contribute to digitalisation and optimisation initiatives

Strengthen efficiency and control environment

Minimum 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a corporate environment

Strong experience with financial close and reporting processes

Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables

Solid knowledge of IFRS

Experience with Norwegian GAAP (practical application preferred)

Hands-on experience in SAP (preferably S/4HANA)

Experience in preparing statutory accounts

Ability to operate effectively in an international and multi-stakeholder environment

Experience working in a shared services or outsourcing model

Exposure to joint venture accounting

Experience with Power BI or Power Query

Experience within the energy sector

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

High degree of ownership and accountability
