Purpose
The OT Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for maintaining security measures, assessments and incident response for Operational Technology (OT) environments.
This role focuses on protecting industrial control systems (ICS) and critical infrastructure from cyber threats, ensuring the secure operation of physical processes.
Responsibilities
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate potential security threats in OT systems.
Ensure quality and accurate information of security assets in the CMDB Enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices for OT environments.
Be able and willing to travel offshore.
Incident Response: Oversee incident response activities for OT systems, including detection, containment, and recovery.
Security Monitoring: Support the implementation and use of OT cybersecurity monitoring solutions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards for security of OT environments.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest OT security threats, trends, and industry standards.
Compliance Assessment for clients, regulators, and access management.
Operate and maintain Vulnerability Management solutions.
Alert on threats, disrupting adversaries and abnormal behaviour.
Operate and maintain lifecycle of all security systems.
Monitoring for threats using OT Cybersecurity and assessment tools.
Monitor and assist vendors to ensure proper security protocols are followed and assessments are conducted.
Monitor and assist any and all personnel to ensure that a cyber risk mindset is in place by monitoring behaviors and providing OT Cybersecurity training.
Remote connection reviews.
Backup verifications.
Participate in Cybersecurity drills.
Produce security reports to be reviewed and acted on for continuous improvement.
Education
Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, engineering, or a related field is typically required.
Experience
2-5 years of experience with OT, ICS, or SCADA technology, cybersecurity, and risk management frameworks. Experience in network security, cryptography, and authentication systems is essential.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or certifications specific to OT security are highly valued.
Certified to travel offshore is preferred (BOSIET or CBSP).
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, routers, switches, and network-connected devices.
