An Osbit Mechanical Engineer is technically capable, and driven, in equal measure. You’re an energetic all-rounder, owning your project from start to finish, and collaborating closely with your colleagues to overcome any obstacles thrown your way. The offshore wind industry is growing fast, and our projects are too. There’s lots to work on, with opportunities to take ownership and make a genuine difference to our business outcomes. You must be willing to get stuck in, combining your technical nous with strong communication, and lateral thinking, to ensure that we deliver On Spec, to Budget and In Time – OSBIT, every time. /ppYour Responsibilities: /ppYou’ll be part of a live project team, working closely with your teammates to design and build each engineering system. You may be assigned different roles project-to-project, and your core responsibilities include: /pulliHelping design innovative systems from first principles, from concept through to detailed design, while maintaining technical excellence. /liliSupporting on schedule delivery by effective management of your project deliverables. /liliManaging supplier progress, holding regular meetings and in-person support. /liliPreparing technical documentation design calculations for peer review, and checking third party documentation. /liliPreparing for and carrying out testing, commissioning and mobilisation activities. /liliLiaising with other business functions, including finance and HSSEQ, for support and guidance. /liliSupporting your teammates by sharing your knowledge and insights in working groups and presentations, where applicable. /li /ulpAbout You: /pulliOpen minded with a keen to learn attitude. /liliFirst rate communicator. /liliSelf-motivated and persistent in getting from A to B. /liliDiligent in attention to detail. /liliAdaptable when unexpected challenges crop up. /li /ulpYour Experience: /ppWe welcome a range of qualification levels, from graduates onwards. In this role, as a basis you’ll need: /pulliA degree-level qualification, or equivalent, in a technical field, such as Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture. /liliThe ability to work with Autodesk Inventor software. /liliProficiency in hand calculations, through to Staad and FEA. /li /ulpFurther Information: /pulliSuccessful applicants be based at our Riding Mill headquarters, in North East England, working on site as required. /liliWorking abroad may be required at times to visit customers, suppliers, and support assembly programmes. /liliWe can offer hybrid working in this role. /li /ulpWhat we offer: /ppIt’s really important to us that Osbit is a fun and supportive place to be.
