The Controlling department of MediaMarkt Benelux consists of 4 teams: Financial Controlling, Commercial Controlling, Operational Controlling, and Procurement Controlling.
The Financial Controlling team provides insights into the financial performance of all departments of the Benelux region and manages the planning and control cycle for this region. We are looking for an experienced Manager Commercial Controlling. As a hands-on Manager, you will be responsible for providing insights into the commercial performance and position of MediaMarkt Benelux. Your role will include monitoring and analyzing short- and long-term developments relating to our organization’s position and objectives. Your key responsibilities include:
- Participating in the month-end close cycle by analyzing and reporting on the monthly results;
- Leading a small team of 3-4 Commercial Controlling Specialists and ensuring optimal team performance;
- Ensuring a robust administrative organization and internal control around daily, weekly, and monthly processes within the Commercial department;
- Managing the monthly forecast process to account for financial changes affecting current and future results;
- Ensuring compliance with reports from the head office in Germany;
- Analyzing results and discussing findings with the Head of Controlling and senior leadership;
- Participating in ad-hoc and process optimization projects.
Your Profile
You are an analytically excellent professional with a strong sense of ownership. You are comfortable working with large models and datasets and have advanced Excel skills. A background in retail, wholesale, or logistics is advantageous. You possess a clear vision of your field but remain open to new ideas and insights. You are an effective stakeholder manager and advisor. Additionally, you can handle deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You are precise, entrepreneurial, and fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Completed master’s or bachelor’s degree;
- At least 2 to 5 years of relevant experience, including leading a small team of commercial controllers;
- Certifications such as RC, RA, CMA, CIMA, CFA are welcome;
- Your career demonstrates talent and ambition;
- Focused on execution, self-starting, organizationally strong, and a top analyst;
- Mature communicator at all organizational levels.
