Lector Performative Art Research, Sound and Society (0,8 fte) – Hogeschool Rotterdam – Rotterdam

Jobid=b23e5c887355 (0.099)

What are you going to do?

Research Centre Willem de Kooning Academy (KCW)

KCW is affiliated with the Willem de Kooning Academy and its educational programmes. For the coming years, KCW will concentrate on degrowth through art and design and intersectionality in relation to creative practices. Degrowth is an experimental paradigm for developing ecologically viable artistic and design practices. Intersectionality grapples with the increasingly complex overlaps between cultural, social and political formations and identities shaping our contemporary world. Together degrowth and intersectionality invite experimentation through sustainable pedagogies, artistic research, and cultural work; they support emerging, underrecognized, and collective research and practices.

These research areas give structure and coherence to the research trajectories:

  • Design Research on Sustainable Materials and Technologies;
  • Performative Art Research, Sound, and Society;
  • Artistic Research and Emerging Forms of Cultural Production.
  • For the research thematic Performative Art Research, Sound and Society we are looking for a research professor (lector). This research line investigates how sound and listening actively produce cultural meaning, social relations, and ways of being in the world.

    What will you be doing?

    The lector will enhance the educational and research priorities of the Willem de Kooning Academy, collaborate with key research and education staff across the various research domains within RUAS, and be the catalyst for forging partnership/consortiums with (inter)national organizations.
