Are you an experienced electrical professional who enjoys combining hands-on technical work with team leadership and safety coordination? For a major industrial company in the Rotterdam area, we are looking for a Lead Electrical Supervisor to manage and support a skilled team of technicians in day-shift operations.
The role
In this position you are responsible for the daily supervision, coordination, and safety of all electrical maintenance activities within a large-scale industrial site operating continuous processes. You ensure that preventive and corrective work is carried out safely, efficiently, and according to internal and legal standards. Your focus will be on organizing and prioritizing maintenance tasks, ensuring the reliability and availability of electrical installations, and guiding your technicians in their professional growth. You will act as the technical authority for electrical systems and play a key role in maintaining a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support a team of about seven electrical technicians.
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate maintenance and repair work on low- and high-voltage installations.
- Ensure safe working practices, manage work permits, and oversee compliance with electrical and safety standards.
- Support inspection, troubleshooting, and improvement work on industrial electrical systems and automation equipment.
- Serve as the point of contact for planning, engineering, and operations departments.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to maintenance, inspections, and safety.
- Promote a proactive, safety-focused, and solution-oriented working culture.
Your background
- Vocational or higher technical degree (MBO 4 or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- Solid experience within industrial electrical maintenance or E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation).
- Familiarity with both low- and high-voltage systems, and ideally some exposure to automation or control systems.
- Experience in a lead, foreman, or supervisory position, including planning and coordinating work for a small technical team.
- Strong safety mindset and readiness to take responsibility for safe working conditions (knowledge of NEN standards or equivalent is a plus).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with technicians, engineers, and management.
- Comfortable using digital tools such as MS Office and SAP (or similar systems).
What You Bring
You thrive in an industrial environment where every day brings new challenges. You enjoy guiding people, maintaining structure, and being close enough to the field to understand what’s happening in the installations. You think in solutions, not problems, and take pride in creating a safe and reliable technical environment.
