Job Title: Cost Control Manager
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all cost control activities on a project.
- Manage and coach cost engineers and controllers in the project team.
- Coordinate cost activities, including CASH planning, POC forecasting, and manpower plans.
- Present monthly project financial forecasts.
- Ensure timely and accurate issuance of the monthly cost report.
- Advise the Project Controls Manager on cost issues.
- Identify and advise on contractual opportunities and risks.
- Coordinate between relevant disciplines and departments for the project.
- Assist in evaluating and preparing change orders, disputes, and claims.
- Contribute to effective communication and team spirit.
- Analyze contracts post-handover and prepare financial summaries.
- Ensure proper handling of project taxation with Tax Counsel.
- Prepare specific monthly reports as requested by clients or partners.
- Verify purchase requisitions before approval.
- Issue NBVs and PBVs in cooperation with the Project Control Manager.
- Prepare project finalization documentation.
- Prepare audit files for semester reviews.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, engineering, construction management, or related field.
Experience: Significant experience in cost management or project cost control, with leadership experience.
Key competencies include:
- Leadership with a hands-on approach.
- Training and coaching skills.
- Accuracy, analytical thinking, independence, and proactivity.
- Ability to analyze financial data and interpret results.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools like Power BI (preferred).
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions.
- Effective teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing environments.
Note: The SBM Schiedam office will relocate to Groot Handelsgebouw in Rotterdam by the end of 2024, featuring modern office space and branding.
