About the Company 

OMA is an international architecture and urbanism practice founded in 1975. With offices in Rotterdam, New York, Hong Kong, and Australia, the practice is led by seven partners: Rem Koolhaas, Reinier de Graaf, Iyad Alsaka, Shohei Shigematsu (NY), Jason Long (NY), David Gianotten, and Chris van Duijn. Over the past five decades, OMA has produced a broad portfolio of projects, employing a team of more than 200 architects, designers, and researchers with a diverse range of experience and expertise. AMO, a research and design studio, often works in parallel with OMA’s clients, enriching architecture with intelligence drawn from a wide range of other disciplines.

About the Role

OMA’s Rotterdam office is currently looking for an intern to join our Business Development department in August 2026. 

The BD team works closely with design teams and office management to actively research and acquire projects in Europe, MENA and worldwide. As BD intern you will support the department by maintaining a continuous overview of potential projects, organizing and distributing requests, and assisting in the preparation of proposal submissions, presentations and portfolios within the team.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a creative, multicultural, and ad-hoc environment, employs a hands-on approach, and is ambitious, assertive, and stress-resistant.

 Qualifications

  • Currently studying in, or recently graduated from, Architecture school.
  • High proficiency in English, and ideally a second language.
  • Knowledge of OMA’s work and the architectural field in general.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies, machine learning, or data analytics is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
  • Hands-on approach, self-disciplined, pro-active and confident in a fast-paced international working environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe CS (InDesign in particular) and Office 365 is preferred.

    • Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data.
  • Research and analyze market trends in architecture and construction.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and industry benchmarking.
  • Help identify new market opportunities.
  • Support the development of AI-models for market research applications.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate insights to internal teams regularly.
