Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and commercial Head of Middle Market to lead the Middle Market segment of Chubb in the Netherlands. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting and overseeing a comprehensive commercial insurance strategy across the Middle Market, SME, and Digital Commercial Insurance segments. This role requires a deep understanding of the Dutch commercial insurance market, strong leadership skills, strong underwriting skills and the ability to build a business, with the backing of wider corporate infrastructure and capability.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a thorough strategy for the Mid-Market Commercial Insurance division, aligned with Chubb's overall business objectives.
Proposition Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product development, IT, actuarial, marketing, underwriting, to design, launch, and continuously enhance the commercial insurance offerings that meet the needs of commercial clients and brokers.
Business Development: Drive business growth by identifying new market opportunities, developing broker relationships, and expanding the distribution channels across the Netherlands. Build a distribution and sales culture within the Mid-Market commercial insurance division.
Product Development: Lead the design, and launch of modular and package insurance products and services that enhance customer experience and drive revenue growth.
P&L Management: Take full accountability for the division's P&L, setting financial targets and ensuring profitability through effective budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing commercial insurance team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Digital Innovation: Leverage emerging technologies and data analytics to enhance customer experience, streamline operations, and drive efficiency within the digital insurance operation.
Process Enhancement: Ensure underwriting processes are efficient and suitable for the segment (Upper Middle Market, Core, Lower Middle Market and SME).
The ideal candidate:
Extensive experience in the Dutch Commercial Insurance market in a management position
Significant underwriting experience, therefore understanding underwriting principles, and risk management concepts; a background in Property & Casualty (P&C) is a plus
Strong business acumen with a results-driven approach and a proven track record of meeting targets and driving revenue growth
Tech-savvy with the ability to understand the value technology brings to build a successful business in this segment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build robust relationships both internally and externally
A customer-focused mindset
Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate international teams
Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and develop innovative solutions for business growth
Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Fluency in English is essential
