The Controlling department of MediaMarkt Benelux consists of 4 teams: Financial Controlling, Commercial Controlling, Operational Controlling, and Procurement Controlling.
The Financial Controlling team is the point of contact in the organization for all questions related to the P&L. The team provides insights into the financial performance of the Benelux region and manages the planning and control cycle for this region. We are looking for a seasoned Financial Controller to lead this team of professionals. As Team Lead Financial Controlling, you will oversee one of our teams to ensure insights into the financial performance and position of MediaMarkt Benelux. Your responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing short- and long-term developments regarding the organization’s position and objectives. Your tasks will include:
- Participating in the month-end close cycle by analyzing and reporting on the monthly results;
- Ensuring a strong administrative organization and internal control around daily, weekly, and monthly processes within the department;
- Managing the monthly forecast process to address financial changes affecting current and future results;
- Complying with various reports from the head office in Germany;
- Analyzing results and discussing findings with the Head of Controlling and senior leadership;
- Participating in ad-hoc and process optimization projects.
Your Profile
You are an analytically excellent professional with a strong sense of ownership. You are comfortable working with large models and data sets and are proficient in Excel. A background in retail, wholesale, or logistics is advantageous. You possess a clear vision of your field but remain open to new ideas and insights. You are naturally an advisory stakeholder manager. You can handle deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You feel comfortable in a large, dynamic organization. You are accurate, entrepreneurial, and fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Additionally, you:
- Hold a master’s or bachelor’s degree;
- Have 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience;
- Possess or are pursuing certifications such as RC, RA, CMA, CIMA, CFA (welcome but not mandatory);
- Have demonstrated talent and ambition throughout your career;
- Are a self-starter focused on results, organizationally strong, and a top analyst;
- Are a mature interlocutor at all organizational levels.
