- Architect Shell TOE Royal Dutch Shell Target Operating Environment
The role of the Enterprise Technical Architects is to develop the Infrastructure architecture and technology roadmaps based on emerging solutions, partner offerings, and market trends. They need to collaborate with Supplier and ITSO staff on architectures for integrated services that support Shell requirements and strategies. Responsibilities include developing standards, reference architectures, and practices to guide the use of ITS services in business IT projects, as well as reviewing and assuring architectures for ITS and business IT projects.
Project or Activity Description
The main focus of this role is to maintain and further develop Shell’s Target Operating Environment (TOE). This involves scanning the market, developing, publishing, and presenting technology trend and strategy briefings for IT leadership. The role also includes working with partners, colleagues, and stakeholders to agree on the next version and updates to the Shell TOE.
Technical Skills and Experience
- Extensive background as a senior back-office infrastructure architect in a large organization.
- Deep knowledge and experience with IT technology, IT market developments, cloud, and emerging technologies.
- Excellent writing skills for presentation materials and documents such as high-level designs and technology position papers.
- Knowledge and experience with IT service development and IT delivery.
- Certification: Open Group Senior Architect, TOGAF 9.1.
Soft Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills. Insight into and experience with organizational change challenges.
- Strong motivational and leadership capabilities.
The role requires maintaining in-depth knowledge of a specific technical specialty in information systems, supporting, executing, or supervising specialized tasks directly related to its application, including quality assurance activities. The technical specialty may involve an IS technology, technique, method, product, or application area.
