As a Data Engineer, you’ll work alongside colleagues from diverse business areas, including Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts, in an environment that values collaboration and continuous learning. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a leading role in architecting, developing, and optimizing our cloud-based data platforms and pipelines. You will collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable, and innovative data solutions, while also mentoring colleagues and guiding technical best practices. In this role, you’ll work with a wide range of data sources, such as customer data, smart meters, wind turbines, weather, markets, and data from internal processes. Your expertise will be key in processing and leveraging this data to generate valuable business insights, create new products and strategies, and drive data-driven innovation across the organization. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of complex technical challenges, continuously improve our data infrastructure, and help ensure Eneco’s data capabilities remain at the forefront of the energy sector. 5+ years of experience as a Data or Software Engineer. ~ Proficiency in data engineering responsibilities such as ETL/ELT, orchestration, warehousing, monitoring and alerting, system design and architecture; as well as best practices, including data modeling, data governance, data quality, access control, and documentation. ~ Proficiency with software engineering best practices: code reviews, version control, CI/CD, incident management, and DevOps principles. ~ Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (e.G., Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, and Kubernetes, and cloud deployments (preferably in Azure). ~ Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL ~ Supporting Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts by preparing and making high-quality data easily accessible. Architecting, designing, and implementing data platforms and solutions to efficiently handle, store, process, and utilize data from various sources, including leading new projects from inception. Deploying, monitoring, and managing pipelines and applications in production. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
