Your opportunity
As a Combat Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out technical tasks related to the design, installation, verification, maintenance, and refits of Combat Systems for naval vessels. You will work closely with multiple departments and external stakeholders, contributing to the development of above-water and underwater sensor systems, along with weapon, command, and control systems. Your primary objective will be to ensure these systems are smoothly integrated into complete naval combat systems for the ships.
What you will do
- Review and update basic and detailed Combat Systems packages for existing or new products, based on relevant information and specifications.
- Implement changes to the basic or detailed Combat Systems packages, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the execution and coordination of project activities related to all deliverables and obligations of the subcontractors.
- Provide support to subcontractors and suppliers throughout the preparation and execution phases of the project.
- Assist the technical subcontract manager for Combat Systems in defining, establishing, and validating the testing of functional and physical interfaces.
- Ensure complete compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications.
- Support the Proposal Department and the engineering and production teams by providing high-quality engineering deliverables.
- Participate in contractual milestones, tests, and trials such as Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Harbor Acceptance Tests (HAT), and Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT) as the accepting party.
- Assist the warranty authority in resolving all identified warranty issues.

What you already have
- A relevant technical bachelor’s or master’s degree with +3 years of experience in engineering or subcontractor management within the shipbuilding industry.
- Proven experience in effectively communicating with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and co-makers.
- Strong understanding of various engineering concepts and practices such as V-model, enabling you to handle diverse technical challenges.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel abroad occasionally, as required to support project activities and objectives.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport, meeting the requirements for military-related projects, which is necessary for security and compliance reasons.
